The Inland Empire and Orange County Networks recently presented Dancing with the Credit Union Stars, Season 8. This year’s performances enchanted the evening at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium. We joined other attendees in a masquerade themed night full of friendly competition between credit unions. Their dedication and hard work really paid off as fellow CUs, vendors, and family members voted with their wallets.
DWTCUS is more than just a dance competition—it's a celebration of the credit union spirit of giving. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit two remarkable organizations:
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals: Supporting 170 children’s hospitals across the U.S. and Canada to ensure children receive the best care possible. Learn more.
Richard Myles Johnson Foundation: Providing vital financial education resources for California and Nevada youth through programs like Bite of Reality®. Discover their work.
Together, credit unions were able to raise significant funds for these great causes.
Jessica and Alicia: Jessica, a long-time SchoolsFirst FCU leader with a passion for diversity and inclusion, pairs with Alicia to showcase their dynamic teamwork. Jessica’s active lifestyle and love for family energize her every step, both on and off the dance floor.
Ashly and Jacob: Ashly, an adventurous and artistic spirit, partners with Jacob, a nonprofit advocate with a passion for community service. Their teamwork brought fun and heart to their performance.
Aaleah and Dereck: Aaleah, a devoted mother and full-time student, teams up with Dereck, a financial empowerment coach with a competitive edge. Together, they were shining like stars while championing a great cause.
Amanda and Damian: Amanda is a champion for community impact, and Damian is a leader in government relations and DEI strategies. They combined their passion for making a difference into a great performance full of storytelling.
Cynthia and Douglas: This duo brought the fun and flair of the cha-cha to life, infusing the dance floor with energy and rhythm.
Isabel and Moises: Isabel’s artistic flair and Moises’ energetic enthusiasm for performance unite to create a duo that was ready to impress. They were able to win over the panel of judges to take home one of the top awards.
Tamar and Joseph: Wescom’s marketing powerhouse Tamar, known for her energy and love for fitness, joins forces with Joseph, the CIO driving tech innovation. Together, they brought a perfect blend of creativity and precision to the stage that captivated the audience to vote the winners.
$22,000 was raised in benefit of Children's Miracle Network. Jackie Gonzalez and Crystal Solomon of Valera were there representing CMN to receive the donation.
Children's Miracle Network Hospitals raises funds for 170 children's hospitals across the U.S. and Canada, helping make sure every child receives the best possible care. Their mission is to make sure every child has a healthy future.
A $12,000 check was presented to the Richard Myles Johnson Foundation. Eddie Garcia, the Chairman of the RMJ Foundation Board, was there to receive the check.
The Foundation provides financial education resources to credit unions in California and Nevada. Last year, they were able to teach 16,000 students through their signature Bite of Reality® program.
We were excited to attend Dancing with the Credit Union Stars 2024. It was a great chance to support life-changing causes while enjoying a night of entertainment and connection. Credit unions coming together can make a meaningful impact, one dance step at a time.
